Get ready for a summer of reading fun! The TD Summer Reading Club is back and this year the theme is "Around the World". Buckle up, globetrotters, we are setting out on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to faraway places.

Join the club! Children ages 12 and under can visit either library location to register and pick up a notebook with your special TD Summer Reading Club access code! This fun reading program inspires children to develop a lifelong love of reading and helps prevent the summer literacy slide. There are lots of fun programs and activities for kids of all ages. Check the Events Calendar for weekly program schedule and times.

How to Participate

  1. Visit Alder or Mill Library to receive your TD Summer Reading Notebook and access code. You can register at any time over the summer!
  2. Use your notebook's code to register at tdsummerreadingclub.ca and unlock your digital notebook for loads of fun.
  3. Log the time you spend reading with the TD Summer Reading Club time tracker, play fun games, get reading reecommendations and more.
  4. Visit the library for weekly programs and chances to win weekly prizes all summer long.

Children can earn ballots towards prizes in any of the following ways:

  • Checking out a book at the library
  • Attending a program
  • Completing a paper reading log (which can be found at the front desk of each location)
  • Completing the downtown StoryWalk or Island Lake (and showing a photo of yourselves on the walk to a staff member)

TD Summer Reading Club StoryWalk®

We have two StoryWalks to read as you stroll around the community this summer. One at Island Lake (entry fees apply) and one along Broadway. Presented in partnership with the Island Lake Conservation Area and the Orangeville BIA. This year’s TD Summer Reading story found in the businesses along Broadway is “Let’s go! haw êkwa!” by Julie Flett.

Visit the TD Summer Reading Club website for more activities: watch featured author and illustrator videos, get cool writing ideas, reading recommendations, jokes and trivia, and print colouring sheets.
