TDSRC Finale - Saturday, August 27 at 10 a.m.

Celebrate a summer of reading with a special animal show from Hands on Exotics. This Safari Adventure will allow children to meet a variety of exotic creatures from around the globe.

Meet us in Parkinson Crescent Park with the Neighbourhood Block Box. Alternate rain location will be the Mill Street Library. Watch our social media channels the morning of the event to confirm the location if weather is inclement.

Annika and Kyla will be ready to announce the 2022 TD Summer Reading prize winners. Make sure to input your tickets in Beanstack by Friday, August 26 for a chance to win!

TD Summer Reading Club 2022

Venture into magical realms where fantastic creatures roam and anything can (and will) happen! Join the TD Summer Reading Club (TDSRC) with the Orangeville Library to help promote reading all summer long and participate in exciting programs and events. Children ages 12 and under can register for the TDSRC.

TD Summer Reading Club Storywalk®

This year’s featured story is “Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox", written and illustrated by Danielle Daniel. Presented in partnership with the Orangeville BIA, families are invited to get outside and discover each new page of the book in the windows of downtown businesses from July 30 to September 5. Start at the Mill Street Library and explore Downtown Orangeville to find and read the rest of the story.

How does the TD Summer Reading Club Work?

1. Register with Beanstack and join Orangeville Public Library's TD Summer Reading Challenge for Pre-school or School Age children.

  • Register by going to the Google Play or App Store and downloading the Beanstack Tracker App to your mobile device. Search for Orangeville Public Library and login to your existing account from last summer, or sign up for an account if you do not have one. Once logged in, select the TD Summer Reading Challenge for your child's age group: preschool or school age.
  • Don't have a mobile device? Go to the Orangeville Public Library Beanstack site, or contact [email protected] for further assistance.

2. Read new and exciting books independently, as a family, listen to audio books or a live read aloud at one of our programs.

3. Log what you read by entering it into the Beanstack tracker. Earn badges for reading and completing activities! Each badge earns tickets.

4. Win Prizes by submitting tickets from badges earned into raffles. Prizes include gift certificates to fun local businesses!

5. Go Forth! Challenge yourself to complete activities on Beanstack or in your TD Summer Reading notebooks (available for pick-up at the library) and check out our fun weekly programs.

Reporting

Report your reading online through Beanstack or drop in to report in-person and do a fun activity! Meet Annika & Kyla from July 4 to August 24 at the following locations:

  • Mondays - 4 to 6 p.m. - Alder
  • Tuesdays - 9 to 11 a.m. - local parks (check the Events Calendar for details)
  • Wednesdays - 12 to 2 p.m. - Mill

The TD Summer Reading Club is a national reading incentive program developed in partnership by Toronto Public Library and Library and Archives Canada, funded by TD Bank Group. The TD Summer Reading Club aims to help stop the loss of skills for students during the summer months and inspire a lifelong love of literacy and learning.
