Throughout the year the Library offers a variety of fun, free programs for youth. Check out our Event Calendar for a list of all upcoming programs and events.

Teen Summer Reading Challenge

Log every book you read this summer, from June 30 to August 24, for a chance to win great prizes. Every time you finish a summer read, quickly complete the entry form to tell us about the book. Completed forms will be entered into a weekly draw. There are eight draws over the summer so there is lots of opportunity to win! Each week opens on Monday and closes on Sunday at midnight.

Choose what you like to read. You can submit books, eBooks, audiobook, manga, graphic novels (including reading apps) and web toons.

Attend events to earn extra prize ballots:

  1. Makerspace preview: Cricut; Wednesday, July 9 (4 to 6 p.m., Mill Library) - register
  2. Teen Advisory Group: Friday, July 11 and Friday, August 8 (4 to 5 p.m., Alder Library)
  3. Nature Journaling Workshop: Sunday, July 13 (1 to 3 p.m., Mill Library) - register
  4. Teen trivia night: Friday, July 18 (7 to 8 p.m., Mill Library) - please email [email protected] if you plan to attend this event.
  5. Teen Chronicles book club: Friday, July 25 and Friday, August 22 (4 to 5 p.m. Alder Library)

After School Club

Join the After School Club that features fun DIY activities, crafts, science experiments and games each month.  Drop-in to this program, no registration required. 

Check our Event Calendar for upcoming dates, location and time. This program takes place on the last Monday of the month for ages 7 to 12. 

After School Club will be back in September. Join the TD Summer Reading Club and enjoy weekly activities in July and August.

 Teen Advisory Group (TAG)

Come out to the Teen Advisory Group to plan fun activities and have your say while earning community service hours.  

Interested in signing up for the Teen Advisory Group and learning about more volunteer opportunities? Fill out the Teen Advisory Group application form.

 Teen Chronicles
Teen Chronicles youth with wavy hair

Monthly book club for Teens - moderated by Teens! Join peers to discuss recent reads and get suggestions for your next page turner. A great way to earn community service hours at the library. 

Check our Event Calendar for upcoming dates and times. This program takes place on the fourth Friday of the month for ages 13 to 17.

Teen Book Stash - Ages 13-17

Teen Book Stash - Summer Edition

Dive into a great book this summer! The Summer edition includes July and August - yes that means you will receive two stash boxes, one each month! Read and return the books but keep the goodies. Please register only if you can commit to picking up the box for both months and you will receive a subscription full of books, sweet treats, and swag. Ages 13 to 17 only.

Please note we do our best to curate a selection of age-appropriate books but if for any reason you would like to swap one of our selections for another, just give us a call at 519-941-0610 ext.5231 or email [email protected].
